Joe, Here is a pic of my Rain's S-10. This is a great guitar! I have only been playing for about 5 months, and this makes me sound better than a beginner!!!! It's quality built, and is played by a lot of the top professionals, and I am very proud to own it, along with the Peavey Nashville 1000 amp . Also, I have your book and cd now, so along with that, and a lesson every Friday, I hope I can really move myself along. I'm on it 2 to 3 hours a night. Thanks Joe, for all your help and support. |

Always wanted to play one of these.
They're scarce as hens teeth here in N.H. It took two years to locate
this one and before I could buy it I had a small
stroke. Being the top shelf fella he was, he kept it for me till I
got on my feet. Well this is it: D10 W 8 pedals and 4 knees. This is
the easiest book to understand that I have. Having never played any
instrument before ,it was better than assuming I knew how to hold the
picks or other rookie mistakes.
Thanks Joe, Danny E.

Dear Joe, I ordered your "Teach Yourself To Play Pedal Steel Guitar" in Nov. 2006 & have had a ball with it. I started playing Guitar (flat top) when i was about 12 yrs. of age, Bass, @ about 32 yrs. of age, Keyboard when I was 9yrs. of age, & started learning the Pedal Steel Guitar in Nov. 2006 @ 52 yrs. of age. After two back surgeries I found that it was to much to stand & play or practice the hours that I was used to, so I decided to try & learn the Steel Guitar. I have always been amazed with the sounds of the steel guitar & watching them being played, plus the stool looked really appealing. I learned the Guitar & Bass by ear, and took lesson's for about 5 yrs. on the Organ (keyboard). The "Teach Yourself To Play Pedal Steel Guitar" is the most easy, understanding, self-paced system I have used to date. If this was offered year's ago I would be better @ the other string instruments that I call myself playing. Attached are some Pictures of my "BMI 10 string, 3 Pedal Steel Guitar", "Peavey Session 400 Amp." & "Myself setting @ the Steel Guitar." Once Again Thanks. Allen H.

Hi Joe this is a 1934 Dobro. When I bought it had a strip of masking tape
on the back that I almost removed until reading, A short good luck note
signed and dated by Josh Graves. Great E-mails they are appreciated. Art...Twang City |

Dear Joe Stoebenau, I am writing to thank you for making my bedroom more exciting!....really. I must admit, even as a recording engineer/producer, my guitar-playing time has been minimal.....it seems that I always WANT to play more but never get around to it....am I to busy to have fun? Sometimes it seems so hard to actually get the guitar out of the case.... I mean, I have to open a door, walk aaaalllll the way down 10 steps and then the most difficult part is to actually OPEN the guitar case...how hard can that be? I guess it has to be very difficult because I haven't been doing it.....until now. Since I signed on to your mailing list, I have been receiving your free info....THANK YOU! It has made a big difference. In one of your last emails, you suggested to put the guitar in a place (bedroom) where you will always see it, thus allowing for absolutely no reason to NOT pick it up and play....and I have been doing just that!......I am finally back to playing on a regular basis and enjoying every minute of it! My bedroom is exciting again! Thanks much, your little advice made a BIG difference! Brian Zebertavage, recording engineer/producer, Brian Zeb Studios

Wow! What a find!! I chose "Teach Yourself to Play Dobro" by Joe Stoebenau from a large selection of
teaching manuals offered by a large music website. You might say I chose this book sight unseen and only had the
manual description offered by the site to guide me. Well I am extremely pleased with the results. It is
easy to read, very simplistic to understand and has wonderful photos to guide a new dobro enthusiast to
the intermediate level of play. Being a professional musician with 30 years of experience playing cornet,
guitar, mandolin, and harmonica, I have seen lots of "teach yourself manuals" that have been more
detrimental rather than helpful. Many times the author writes from the perspective that you should
already have an understanding of the music language of slants, slides, licks, pull-offs and hammer-ons. For
a beginner this can be overwhelming. Joe takes the approach that you are just beginning to understand
music and leads you gentley into the world of music comprehension. With a teacher's guide like this who
can't learn to play dobro? Believe me, this is a must for all beginning dobro musicians!!!

I
have been playing the guitar for about 4 months, and I just completed Barre Chord Secrets Revealed. I found the DVD and book very informative. Joe Stoebenau cleared up the mystery of barre chords. In less than half an hour he even had me playing a song using only barre chords. He has given me the key to moving chords along the whole neck of the guitar. I highly recommend this course. Hi Joe,
Thanks for sending the barre chord secrets book so quickly. I sat down with it last night and had the "ah-ha" moment I thought I would only have years from now. As a new guitarist (3 months) I just assumed I would have to just slowly learn those huge "phonebooks" of chords and that there was no other way around it. Boy did you prove it wrong. In about an hour I understood more about the fret board and playing the guitar than I thought I would understand in years.
Bravo on an excellent product. It is a must for every new student!!

**p.m. I want to know how I can learn the techniques you and Dr. Dave spoke about in the "secrets" cd you included. please let me know. You mentioned 30 minutes a day to music mastery and that sounds good to me!
thanks Joe

Dear Joe, Thanks for showing me how to play the Dobro. I am amazed at how easy and fun it is to play. Your book Teach Yourself To Play Dobro is the key to starting out on the right foot (or chord). I'm heading out to purchase a Dobro of my own this weekend. After concentrating on scales and modes for so many years, I'm ready for some real fun! Thanks! Dr. Dave, www.drdavesbest.com
